Line Photos

The roots of this tree are going in many different directions, which creates a sense of wildness. Some of the lines are curved and goes off the page, which creates direction.

There are many lines in this ice. These lines are straight and create other geometric shapes, like rectangles and triangles. There is more space between the lines near the bottom of the photo, the space between lines is smaller at the bottom, creating narrower shapes. It creates a very interesting pattern.

The river creates a horizontal line, which creates direction in this photo. The trees create many vertical lines of many different sizes.

The steps create horizontal lines. These lines get smaller as you move to the top of the page, which creates direction. There are also horizontal lines in the railings, which again creates direction at the top of this photo. Then, the shadows of the railings create zig zagging lines, which creates a lot of movement in the center of the photo.

There are so many lines in the bark of this tree. I also chose to take the photo looking up so that the length of the tree would create lines that extended to the top of the photo. I think the lines in the bark create a very interesting pattern and a lot of unity.
